Wilma Jean Noel

Wilma Jean Noel was born July 10, 1944, in Madisonville, KY to the late Pearlie Thomas Evans and Dorothy Mae Stone. She departed this life on Friday, January 5, 2024, at Hendersonville Medical Center surrounded by family. Wilma accepted the Lord as her savior at an early age at Lively Stone Church in Nortonville, KY. She graduated from Rosenwald High School and later in life attended Vol State University for real estate.

She married the love of her life, James Arthur Noel in 1964 and they spent 59 incredible years together. Through this union came three beautiful children: Timothy & Ronda Noel (Urbandale, IA), Pocha & Lisa Noel (Hendersonville, TN), & Vonda & LaKayla Noel (Wimauma, FL). Nine (9) wonderful grandchildren; Shawntel, Reanna, Chanel, Nigel, Alisha, Maddox, Kingston, Chase, and Nyla Noel. Wilma and James moved to Peoria, IL in 1966 where she worked for Caterpillar Tractor Company for 30 years. She was a member of Christian Family Church under Reverend Tony Pierce. After retirement, they moved to Hendersonville, TN, where she became a member of Celebration of Life Church under the tutelage of Pastor Joseph & Yolanda Morgan. She was a devoted member of the congregation and served many roles including being a part of the prayer team as well as a greeter. She was deeply devoted and loved the Lord and His People. She enjoyed cooking delicious meals for her family and friends who always had an open invitation for a seat at the table. She is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Mae Stone, and father, Pearlie Thomas Evans; stepfather, L.T. Stone; two sisters, Olivia Grayson, and Catherine Elaine Stone; three brothers; Arthur Thomas Evans, John White, and George White.

In addition to her children and grandchildren, Wilma is also survived by two sisters; Charmaine and Gloria Stone; three brothers; O’Neal, David, and Lorandus Stone, Jr.; special friends; Jewel Barbee, Julia Cheeks, Erlene Weems and Annete Whittley; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
