Willie Daniel Cole

February 18, 1934 — December 15, 2017

Rev. Willie Daniel Cole, Sr., 83, went home to be with the Lord December 15, 2017. He was born in Jackson, TN to Crelius and Mattie Cole. Willie moved to Evansville in 1997 and work for CAPE as a Foster Grandparent. Previously, he lived in East St. Louis, IL and was a crossing guard for District 189 School System. He was licensed to preach in 1980 under the leadership of Bishop Joseph Bigby in East St. Louis. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church for over 18 years.

Willie was a great man of God who was loved and respected by many. He taught his children and strangers about the goodness of God. His life was a true testimony of what God’s word, love, and healing powers could do. He loved to play games and enjoyed fishing, playing Chess, Checkers, Bingo, Monopoly, Life, Solitaire, Uno, and reading the Bible.

In addition to his parents, Willie was preceded in death by a son: Willie Cole, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 17 years: Caroline Cole; sons: Carl Hurtz, Hondre’ Cole, Christopher Cole, Emmanuel Branch, Gaston Cole (Marilyn), Harold Cole; daughters: Alice Saddler, Yolanda Williams, Gretchen Cole, Robin Cotton (Roy), Ruthie Rollins (Larry); a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, cousins, and friends.

Services are Saturday December 23, 2017 at 12 Noon at R. Mason Brothers Memorial Chapel with visitation from 10 a.m. until service. Leave condolences at www.masonbrothersfs.com .
