William Henry Lawrence, Jr. was born on September 3, 1942. William was the oldest of 12 children born to Pilar (Edwards) Lawrence and William H. Lawrence, Sr.
“Pete” “June Bug,” as he was affectionately known by his family and friends will be dearly missed.
“Pete” accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized with the Holy Rites of the Roman Catholic Church at St. John’s Catholic Church.
“Pete” was united in marriage to Annabelle Rankin and to this union was born one daughter, Gianna Lawrence; three sons: William H. Lawrence III, Raymond M. Lawrence, and Shawn D. Lawrence.
“Pete” attended St. John’s Catholic School. He graduated from Reitz Memorial High School with the Class of 1960. He later served four years in the United States Air Force.
“Pete” was employed at Whirlpool while living in Evansville. He later moved his family to Milwaukee WI then later to Los Angeles CA where he worked for Continental Can Company.
“Pete” later moved to Atlanta GA and loved to come back to the Lincoln Douglas Reunion to be with his family and friends.
William Henry “Pete” “June Bug” departed this life on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at the age of 72 years old at St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville IN. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Pilar (Edwards) Lawrence and his brother, Anthony Quinten Lawrence.
William “Pete” “June Bug” leaves to cherish his memory his wife of over 50 years, Annabelle Lawrence; one daughter, Gianna Lawrence; three sons, William H. Lawrence III, Raymond M. Lawrence, and Shawn D. Lawrence; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; his dad, Mr. William H. Lawrence, Sr.; three brothers: Phillip Lawrence (Cheryl) of Los Angeles CA; Dr. Marcellus Lawrence (Michelle) of St. Louis MO, and Aaron Lawrence (Jawanna) of Evansville IN; seven sisters: Carolyn Pate of Atlanta GA, Rita Albert of Indianapolis IN, Lillian Jackson of Indianapolis IN, Anita Johnson of Atlanta GA, Paula Williams of Indianapolis IN, Marcia Mosley (Ron) of Chicago IL, and Andrea Baltzell of Evansville IN.
