The beloved Wendy Bryant-Miller departed this life on October 19, 2021 at home. She was born on December 29, 1948 to Rosetta Bell and Robert “Doc Doty” Burnett.
Wendy graduated from the old Central High School in 1966 and was part of Ebone 66. She started her Christian journey at New Hope Baptist Church under the late Rev. Dr. W. R. Brown Sr. She was baptized there and was part of various groups. Wendy served as a matron, a member of Circle Deborah, helped with large office mailings, and the Voices of Hope. Later, she joined Memorial Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Adrian Brooks. Wendy was an avid BINGO player and enjoyed attending the games at Good Shepard and the Evansville Coliseum.
Wendy worked for the Whirlpool Corp. for 36 years where she retired in 2006. Wendy then began working for Aurora where she helped with the homeless shelters. Wendy then founded the Churches Embracing Offenders (CEO) under Rev. Tony Metcalf and continued working with CEO under Westin Leach.
Wendy was preceded in death by her husband: Ben Miller; mother: Rosetta Bell; father: Robert Burnett; aunt: Cecil Cabell.
She leaves to cherish her memory children: Delbert Bryant, Carman Craig (Erwin); grandchildren: Danzel Bryant (Tonia); Taylor Johnson (Andon), Macayla Henderson, Latoya Bryant; step children: Rita Cobb, Lisa Wilson Miller, and Timothy Miller (Tonya); significant other: Larry Haynes; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends, family, cousins.
Special love to Jerry and Anita Carter, Sheila Thomas, Shirley Moss, and Josie Ann Vance.
Services will be Saturday, October 30, 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Baptist Church, Evansville. Visitation will be at 9:00 until service time.
