Pastor W. R. Hopson (Pastor Ray) born May 16, 1948 transitioned to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at Gateway Hospital. He truly loved the Lord and was an advocate on getting people to accept God and having an intimate relationship with their savior.

He was ordained through Christ Church Holiness in Madisonvile, KY. He was later ordained by Pastor Rod Parsley, World Harvest Fellowship, Columbus, Ohio.

One of his favorite scriptures was Jeremiah 30:17 “For I will restore health to you and your wounds. I will heal, declares the Lord, because they have called you an outcast, saying this is Zion, for whom no one cares.” He was a man that was truly sent by God.

Ray also served his country in the United States Armed Forces Branch of the Army. He was a UK basketball fan.

He was preceded in death by his father: Weltmer Hopson and mother: Oreather Hopson (Douthett); as well as his brother: Elder Jerry Hopson .

He leaves to cherish the love of his life his wife of almost 50 years: JoAnn; sons: Chad (Ashley) of Evansville, IN; Jeremiah of Henderson, KY; Josh Hopson (Lanysha) of Evansville, IN, and Aaron Hopson of Henderson, KY; grandson: Keylon Ray; sisters: Elder Tempe Hopson of Providence, KY and Sharon Hopson Calhoun of Louisville, KY; sisters-in-law: Gerlene Powell of Providence, KY and Mona Civils of Indianapolis, IN; and a host of nieces and nephews.
