Welden Tramaine Hughes

Welden Tramaine "Sugar Bear" Hughes, age 34, of Earlington, KY passed away to his eternal home on Monday, January 11, 2016 at Norton's Hospital, Louisville, KY. He was born on 11-01-1981 to his devoted parents, Vivian Denise Pettus and Weldon Lloyd Hughes.

He professed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Earlington. He reunited with Mt. Zion before his untimely death. Welden loved to watch all sports, but he was particularly fond of, and loved to play, football.

Welden was preceded in death by a special grandmother, Ms. Annabelle Pettus; grandparents, Mr. Alonzo and Mrs. Ivory Hughes; and many other close relatives.

He leaves to cherish his memory his parents; a stepmother, Mrs. Dorothy Hughes; two brothers: Otis Williams III of Madisonville and Gilbert Wade Hughes (Amy) of Antioch, CA; two sisters: Patrice Cox of Huntsville, AL and Regina Hughes of Madisonville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Services are Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 1:00pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Earlington, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 10:00am until service time. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Mason & Sons Funeral Home is in charge. Condolences may be left at www.masonbrothersfuneralservices.com
