Vernal Oliver “Booder” Hall, 55, left his earthly home January 18, 2021 at 8:45 a.m. at Deaconess Hospital. He was the son of the late Vernal “Moose” Hall and Mary Louise Hall.
Booder, as everyone knew him, graduated from Central High School as an outstanding basketball player. He also attended Indiana State in Terre Haute, IN and while there, he worked at Gilbault Boys School. He also worked at Hillcrest Washington Home and Deaconess Cross Pointe. He retired from the Indiana Department of Corrections as a Parole Office for 13 years.
He was a member of Greater St. James Baptist Church where he drove the church van and was a member of the Senior Usher Board and the Nurses Guild.
He is preceded in death by his father: Vernal Hall; brother: Daryl “Pops” Hall; and uncle and aunt: Charles and Jacqueline LaGrone.
Cherishing his memories are his son: Vernal Oliver; mother: Mary Louise; brothers: Duaine Hall and Rev. Dean Hall; stepdaughters: Chasity Broden and Savannah Broden; nephew and niece: Mario Hall and Andrea Hall; great-niece: Aurianna Hall; great-nephew: Dominque Hall; cousins, a host of friends, and his companion, Shaq.
Services will be on Wednesday, January 27 at 11:00 a.m. at R. Mason Brothers Memorial Chapel, Evansville, IN. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. until service time.
Due to Covid-19, masks will be required and social distancing will be practiced.
