Timothy Layne Rucker, 49, went home to be with the Lord on April 7, 2017. He was born on September 28, 1967 to Jesse Rucker, Sr. and Maurine Hines Rucker in Evansville, In. Timothy was educated in the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation and graduated from North High School in 1986. He went on to enlist in the United States Navy and served his country before returning home.
Timothy professed a hope in Christ at a young age, joining Heritage Baptist Church where he was very active in the youth ministries with his brothers and sisters. As an adult, he joined Memorial Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Adrian Brooks, Sr.
Timothy worked at Collis, Inc. as a Stripper Finisher and at the Evansville Country Club. In his free time he enjoyed playing pool and fishing with his family and friends. He liked to have fun and enjoyed a good laugh. Throughout his life, Timothy has always had a lot of friends who enjoyed coming to his house to watch sports on T.V. He was a lover of music and attended many concerts. His favorite music genres were Reggae, R&B, and Jazz. Timothy’s special alone time relaxation was to watch Sanford & Sons re-runs and to read mystery novels and detective stories.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Dwight Rucker; sister: Delores Rucker. He leaves to cherish his memory: sisters: Linda Guilder, Shelia Conner, Jill Rucker, Yolanda Rucker, Anessah Rucker; brothers: Jesse F. Rucker, Jr. (Nettie), Myron Rucker (Karen), Mark Rucker (Beverly), Robert Rucker; long- time companion: Shari Buchannan; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services are Saturday April 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Baptist Church with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until service time. R. Mason Brothers Memorial Chapel is entrusted with arrangements. Leave condolences at
