Thomas Edward Anderson went home to be with the Lord on April 11, 2024, at St. Vincent Hospital. Born to the late Sally Wilson Anderson and George Anderson in Canton, Mississippi on December 8, 1946, he was the youngest of four siblings. Thomas attended Lincoln High School but graduated from Central High School. He was a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church where he was a Sunday School teacher, a Layman, and sang in the Mighty Men of Zion choir.
Thomas served in the United States Army and lived in London, England for 20 years before returning to Evansville. He loved football, basketball, and all other sports. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. After retiring from Whirlpool Corp., Thomas worked in the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) at Carver Community Organization.
In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Fykes Anderson; niece, Ursula Smith; grandparents, Henrietta Johnson Wilson & Sam Wilson, Eugene Watkins; brother, Millard Ranson, Jr.; nephew, Daniel Lee Anderson.
Thomas is survived by a son, Charleston Garrett (Rashedah), grandchildren, Charlston Garrett, Jr., Ra’Deja Johnson all of Evansville; sisters, Deloise Anderson of Canton, MS, Georgia Anderson of Evansville; brother, Charlie Anderson of Evansville; sister-in-law Gloria Anderson of Evansville; brother in law, Gordon Fykes (Rhonda) of Memphis, Tennessee; special nephew, Charles Lamar Anderson (Alexis); special friends, Mary Black, Elder Matthew Hale, Rev. Steve Brown, Eugene Ellis, and Leonard Collins; a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Thomas will be missed by all who loved him. Rest on baby brother.
