Terry Wayne Wilkes, 63, was called home on Sunday February 5, 2017. He was born to the late Oliver Wilkes, Sr. and Marian Skinner Wilkes in Earlington, KY on April 11, 1953.
Terry was a graduate of Earlington High School. He was a hard worker from a very young age working numerous jobs during his lifetime. He was formerly employed by Island Creek Company Store, Holiday Inn, Watkins Rest Home, Ridgewood Terrace, Pennyrile Moving & Storage, Mayflower Moving & Storage, Atlas Van Lines, and Ferrells Restaurant all of Madisonville.
Terry united with the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and remained a faithful member until moving to Tennessee in the fall of 2016. He served as a former trustee, usher, member of the Male Chorus and the Brotherhood.
He leaves to cherish his memory: daughter: Tamara La’Nell Scisney; grand-daughter: Taidra Scisney-Jones; grandson: Trey Vond Ware all of Louisville, KY; brothers: Oliver (Adele) Wilkes of Madisonville, KY and Charles (Carmalita) Wilkes of Laverne, TN; sisters: Martha Jones of Madisonville KY, Olivia (Lymus) Holman of Powder Springs, GA; 3 aunts: Elizabeth Buckner, Levora Wilkes, and Helen Hodges of Madisonville, KY; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins. He had three life-long friends that he cherished: the late Leo Scisney, Shirley Minor and William “June Bug” Drake. Wayne also had four other children that he loved, nurtured, and provided for as if they were his own: Tarsha Wilson, Terrance Scisney, Toval Beard, and Tiana Polk. He also loved their children as his own grandkids and they loved their “Granddaddy Wayne Wayne”.
