Tamara (Tammy) Lynn Hawes, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away peacefully at the Brickyard Nursing Home on April 1, 2025, at the age of 63. Tamara was a devoted mother and grandmother, who cherished her family dearly. Known for her kind and caring nature, she dedicated her life to helping others as a care technician from her teenage years until her retirement in the early 2000s. Following her retirement, she devoted herself fully to being a grandmother, a role she embraced with love and joy. Tamara had a profound passion for music. As a teenager, she would eagerly purchase the latest albums and was a devoted fan of Prince. In her final days, she found comfort listening to his music while enjoying precious moments with her son. Tamara was preceded in death by mother, Barbara Boone Finch, and father, Samuel Hawes. 

Tamara is survived by her loving children, son, Mateo Hawes and daughter, Ashanti Hawes; her beloved grandson, Kyler Hawes; her siblings, Pastor Randall K. Lander Sr. (Emily), Theron Hawes (Lenora), Brent Finch, Ghia Finch, and Shawn Finch; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Tamara Lynn Hawes will be remembered for her generous spirit, unwavering love for her family, and her dedication to caring for others. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
