Sylvia Goodwill was born on February 23, 1960, to the late Gene Goodwin and Evelyn Harris Goodwin in Chicago, Illinois.
She began her education at Stephen Douglass Elementary School. After graduating, she later attended Wendell Phillips High School majoring in General Education. Sylvia loved being a grandmother, helping others, babysitting, dancing, and housekeeping. She was very outspoken, sociable, loud, crazy, strong, a fighter and she never wore her heart on her sleeve. Sylvia was a beautiful hearted woman with beautiful eyes. She was known by everybody as “Crazy Auntie”.
In addition to her parents, other family members waiting for her in heaven are brothers: Gene, Anthony, and Victor; children’s fathers: Nathaniel, Levertes, and Herschel; grandson: Tavares aka Nuka.
Sylvia will be lovingly remembered by her children: Evelyn, Alicia, Levertes, Nicole and Gene; sisters: Angela, Rosalyn, Natalie, Felicia, and Lorna; brother: Richard; 27 grandchildren: Travis, Terrell, Treshawn, Trequan, Ken, Heaven, Latisha, Robert, Keshawn, Shameka, Shakirra, Shamiyah, Shaniyah, Shalonda, Strantrice, Mario, Jr., Aveon, Azaryon, Amyia, Amarion, Arya, Levertes Jr., Devonta’, Denali, Giovanni, Gene Jr., and Cherish; 5 great grandchildren: Sa’Moni, TreQuwan, Lamiyra, Myzailah, and Robert Jr; special granddaughters/nieces: Deja & Irmiyah.
