Susie Grose

Susie L. Grose, age 71, of Evansville, IN went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Deaconess Hospital.

Susie was born January 29, 1944 in Clarksdale, MS to J.P. and Mary Hooker and was educated through the Vanderburgh County Schools. She was a lifetime member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and was active in the mission group.

Her employment included 30 years as security at the Evansville Executive Inn, as well as work at the United States Postal Service as a clerk. She retired from Washington Manor Nursing Facility as a dietary aide.

Susie was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Grose; her parents as well as her early childhood caretaker, Hazel Hinton; and eight siblings.

She is survived by three daughters: Phyllis, Michelle, and Geraldine Grose; one son, Jerry Grose; one sister, Martha Ann Hooker; one brother, Elijah Hooker; several grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Home-going Services will be held Monday, January 4, 2016 at 1:00pm at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with visitation from 11:00am until service time at the church. Burial at Locust Hill Cemetery.
