Steve Owens Lipscomb was born August 4, 1955 to the late George Lipscomb and Janie Porter Lipscomb. He entered into eternal rest on July 4, 2017 at Baptist Health Hospital in Madisonville, KY.
He was Affectionately known as “Maestro” to family and friends. He always lived life as large as his smile and personality. He loved life and enjoyed each and every moment of his life. He was educated in the Maury County School System in Columbia, TN. He held several jobs while living in the state of Tennessee. After moving to Kentucky, he was employed by the Salvation Army as a cook and Rescare as a caregiver. At the time of his passing, Steve was a driver for Car Mart.
Steve accepted Christ at an early age. After moving to Madisonville, he united with the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he was a faithful member serving on the Usher Board and as a member of the Male Chorus. He was proud to be a Deacon in training.
In addition to being active in his local church, Steve was a member of The Great Banquet #166 which is an interfaith bible study group and the Iron Man Prayer Group.
Steve was preceded in death by his loving family members; sister, Patricia Jeanette Lipscomb and brother, Natorleian “Bubba” Lipscomb.
Steve leaves to cherish loving memories, his loving wife of 35 years, Janice; son: Demontrey Lipscomb of Madisonville; daughter: Daphne Burkeen of Nashville, TN; granddaughter: Brileigh Lee Lipscomb of Madisonville; sisters: Chanta Lipscomb, Chandra Lipscomb both of Madisonville, Carla Lipscomb, Shelia Browne (Larry) both of Columbia, TN, Gwendolyn Jones (Larry) of Murfreesboro, TN, Jacquelyn Fleming of Nashville, TN; brothers: William Lipscomb, Van Lipscomb, Jermaine Lipscomb (Heather), Detorleian Lipscomb (Latoya) all of Columbia, TN, Vincent Lipscomb of Murfreesboro, TN; honorary sister: Marsha “Loose” Walker; special friends: James “Jigga” Garrett, Dre Murphy; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
