Stephen (Big Steve) Lindsey was born on July 8, 1946 in Rockport, IN to the late Edward and Katherine Lindsey. He departed this life on January 16, 2020 at the age of 73.
He retired from Alcoa Warrick Operations after more than 33 years of service. He was a participating member of Sterling Men’s Club Inc. for more than 30 years and a member of the Otis Stone Post Sons of American Legion for over 25 years. In addition, he was an active member of the State Burners Motorcycle Club. He accepted Christ at Dove Chapel under then pastor, Anthony Brooks, Sr.
Steve enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing poker with Sweet Lou and Paul Williams, along with sitting at Otis Stone Post 354 laughing with his many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters: Joan Henson, Edna Ricketts, Linda Head, and Beverly Lindsey.
Stephen is survived by his wife Joy Lindsey whom he was married to for 38 years and courted for 2 years; sons: Jawan (Untra) Lindsey of Atlanta, GA, Robert (Chris) Wilson of Evansville, Walter (Erin) McCarty of Lincoln, MA; daughters: Dytana (Gary) Wilson, Twanna (Tony) Wilson; sisters: Carolyn Lindsey, Lula Pace, Cora Kennar all of Evansville, Debra (Gregory) Peoples of Elk Grove, CA, Marilyn (Norbie) Kempt of Grandview, IN; uncle: Robert (Betty) Lindsey of Rockport, IN; sisters-in-law, Hellen Collins of Evansville, Virginia Lee of Springfield, TN; and brother-in-law: Noble Smith of Springfield, TN; 17 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
