Shelia Angelia Simpson

Shelia Angelia Simpson, age 55, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 28, 2016 from Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Shelia was born November 22, 1961 in Greenville KY to Clifford and Dorothy Hendricks. After graduating high school, Shelia attended college. She soon began her family and spent most of her life as home-maker and full-time mother.

Shelia loved “yard sales.” She famously attended the “Kentucky Highway 60 Yard Sale” twice, passionately shopping for bargains from Owensboro to Irvington and back again – a trip that spanned 110 miles roundtrip! Shelia also loved to crochet, especially baby blankets. She loved hosting many family dinners and she especially loved her four Yorkies: “Jasper”, “Conner”, “Sophie” and “Macie.”

A caring and compassionate person, Shelia was always willing to help anyone that needed a helping hand. She willingly shared what she had with others and very recently, she gave up her own furniture to a couple in need. She will be greatly missed.

Sheila was preceded in death by her father, Clifford Hendricks; her sister, Kim Brackett; and her brother-in-law, Kenny Taylor.

Surviving are her husband, Jerald McDonald; her children: Micka (Chris) Poole, Misty (Shaun) Sloan, Kerry Simpson, Wesley McDonald, Bethany Simpson, Brittany Simpson; 8 grandchildren; her mother, Dorothy Hendricks; siblings: Brenda (Ken) Wilkes , Judy (Rocky) Anderson, Cheryl (Benny) Howard, Patti (Mike) Rickard, Debbie Taylor, Cathy Hendricks, Chris (Janice) Hendricks, David Hendricks, Alan (Vicky) Hendricks, John Brackett, and Mary Lou Tipitt; and many nieces and nephews and friends.

Services will be held Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 2:00pm at Little Flock Holiness Church, Hwy 815, Owensboro, Kentucky with visitation from 12:00 noon until service time also at the church. Burial will be in Calhoun Cemetery in Calhoun KY. Mason & Sons Funeral Home in Madisonville is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be left at www.masonbrothersfs.com
