Rosie Mae Russell age 72, passed away Saturday January 28th, 2017 at, Baptist Health in Madisonville Ky. She was born to Gertrude Jagoe Pettus and William Thomas Pettus, Sr., in Earlington, Ky on October 1, 1944. Rosie graduated from J. W. Million High School. Rosie was employed at the Hopkins County Hospital and Regional Medical Center in the House Keeping department for many years. She was an avid Avon and Mary Kay Sales Representative.
Rosie was a member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Earlington, Ky. She was a faithful member who enjoyed volunteering her time working to support various ministries in the church.
In addition to her parents, Gertrude Jagoe Pettus and William Thomas Pettus, Sr., Rosie was preceded in death by husband: Walter P. Russell; one son: Timothy Pettus; one daughter: Melody Russell; three sisters: Laverne Simms, Beatrice Pettus, and Annie Bell Pettus; two brothers: William Thomas Pettus II, and Leroy Pettus.
She leaves to cherish her memory, five children: Darryl Eugene Pettus of Earlington Ky, Sandra (Ronnie) Radford of Indianapolis, In, Patricia (Walter) Boone of Antioch TN, Royce (Pantos) Pettus of Palm Coast, FL, Joyce Russell of Earlington, Ky; two brothers: Miller O’neal (Allene) Stone of Earilington Ky, and Rev. Dr. James A. (Mary) Pettus of Danville, Va,; two aunts: Irene Day and Jessie Jagoe; 13 Grandchildren and 13 Great grandchildren. Rosie also leaves a host of nieces and nephews who will remember her forever with love.
