Rosa L. Thomas, “Mama Rose,” made her path to glory to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 2:50pm at Deaconess Charlier Hospice.
Rosa L. Fellows Baker-Thomas, the youngest child of the late Ada Chisley Pope-Fellows and the late Jerome Bona Fellows, was born January 4, 1916 in Henderson, Kentucky.
Rosa had worked at Sears and at Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation as a bus attendant.
She is survived by her daughter, Jerrye (Donnal) Collins and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and church members. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, brothers, son (Oney Baker, Jr.), and oldest grandson (Rev. Robert E. Black, Jr.).
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 9, 2016 at 11:00am at Greater St. James Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Pollard, Sr. officiating. Friends may visit Thursday from 2pm – 4pm at Mason Brothers Memorial Chapel, 1001 Lincoln Avenue, then from 6pm – 8pm at Greater St. James Baptist Church, 465 S. Elliott Street.
