We give thanks to the Lord for the life and His care of Romania Chastine, formerly of Evansville, Indiana. He gave Romania life through her parents, Paul and Vitola Simms on April 7, 1939, in Hopkins County, Kentucky. She was 77 years old when, on Thursday night, December 22, 2016, at approximately 10:00pm at Baptist Health Madisonville, the Lord opened the door of life that’s new, abundant, and everlasting.
Romania was a faithful member of Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church in Evansville, Indiana where she faithfully attended until her health started to diminish. One of her greatest joys was reading the Bible.
Romania truly loved the Lord. She also loved talking to people, both young and old.
Romania was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Vitola Simms and a brother, William Simms.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sisters: Hiawatha Thomas at NHC Nursing Home in Madisonville KY and Wanitta Simms of Indianapolis IN; nephews: Donald Thomas (Beverly) and Michael Pettiford (Karen) of Dublin OH; nieces: Charmain Brown of Madisonville KY, Frances Branch of Paducah KY, Janet Isabell of Madisonville KY, Jackelyn Brown (George) of Chicago IL, Deniece Simms of Woodbridge VA; and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
