Robert Larry Mason

March 22, 1948 — November 2, 2015

Robert Larry Mason, son of the late Dorothy and Lacomis Mason, passed peacefully in his home in Manchester, KY Monday morning, Nov. 2, 2015. He was a marine, an author, a loving husband, father, and a deacon in his church.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Sheila (Davis) Mason, a loving sister, Dorothy Ann (Mason) Joyce, an aunt Mary Ola Johnson; eight children: Rahmise Jamal Mason (Tonya), Adrianne Renee Stott (Ronald), Carmelita Shari Jones (James), Raphiem Armuri Mason, Rakeem Saleke Mason (Janine), Rashid Salem Mason, Rashanda Jeanette Mason, Kecia Denise Dolberry (Sir Larre); twenty one grand-children; and eleven great grand-children. He was also survived by his brother in arms, a fellow marine who served with him in Vietnam, Rev. Odessie Malone.

Visitation will be at Marable Temple 139 State Street, Providence, KY 42450 on Saturday Nov. 7, at 11:00 a.m. with services beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery. Mason & Sons Funeral Home at 409 East Noel Ave, Madisonville, KY 42431 is entrusted with final arrangements. Flowers may be sent to the funeral home.
