Robert “Bob” Hawkins was born on February 20, 1949, to Victoria Hawkins and Warren Bass. He was preceded in death by his mother Victoria Hawkins Irvine, and his son: Reginald Hawkins; sister: Vicky Irvine; brother: Ivan Irvine; and stepson: Christopher Johnson.
Robert was baptized at an early age at Liberty Baptist Church by Pastor L.S. Smith. “Bob” as family and
friends knew him, attended Wheeler School and Central High School, where he was active in football and basketball. Bob was an avid chess league player and won several tournaments. Bob was employed at Bucyrus Erie and Specialty Systems, Inc., an asbestos removal company where he was also a foreman.
Bob leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife Jocelyn Hawkins, and his father Warren Bass; his children: LaGay Hawkins Macon, Robert Hawkins, Jr. (Candace), Raheem Hawkins, Rodney Hawkins (Catrice). stepchildren: Cynthia Johnson, Charity Johnson, and Charles Johnson; aunt Francille Baker, siblings: Warren “Scoonie” Hawkins, Shirley Bell, Samuel Irvine, Francille Irvine, Doris Irvine. grandchildren: Jason Macon, Christopher Hawkins, Roman Hawkins, Rajae Hawkins, Sameerah Hawkins, Roya Hawkins, Khalil Hawkins, Kylan Hawkins; step-grandchildren: Cadava Johnson, Montreal Johnson, Makayle Jones, Miles Johnson, Alina Johnson, Tiana Finch, Riley Johnson, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
