Rev. Robert Duerson went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 12, 2016. A native of Earlington, Kentucky, he was 88 years old at the time of his passing.
Rev. Duerson pastored Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Newburgh, Indiana for over 17 years. A engaged pastor, he established and conducted a nursing home ministry and bible study for many years. At the same time, he worked for the Evansville Post Office for 28 years.
Rev. Duerson was a notable American patriot. He served in both the United States Navy and the United States Army in World War II and the Korean War, respectively.
Rev. Duerson raised 29 foster kids in his lifetime. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and family.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Duerson of Evansville IN; two step-daughters: Anitra King Vaughn of Nashville TN and Daneisha King of Evansville IN; two sisters: Mamie Dulin and Helen Duerson – both of Evansville IN; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Homegoing Services will be Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 11:00am at Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church with same day visitation from 10:00am until service time, also at the church. Burial with military rites at Oak Hill Cemetery. Mason Brothers Memorial Chapel in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be left at
