Robert Paul Curd, Jr., “Bob,” entered this life on November 16, 1933 and left his earthly temple on March 18, 2018. He was 84 years of age.
Bob was born to the union of Robert Paul Curd, Sr. and Lucretia Jackson. Paul was born and grew up in Evansville, Indiana. He graduated from Reitz Memorial Catholic High School and joined the US Navy where he became a Chief Petty Officer. He loved the Navy, the structure that it gave him, and the job that he chose. At his duty station in Japan, he met and married Shuko Curd. Four boys were born to this union: Patrick, Kenichi (Alexis), Takashi, and Anthony (Ellen). When he finished his tours of duty, he joined New York Life Insurance Company and worked for them until he retired.
Bob later married childhood friend, Emma Smith-Tillman. He was a Eucharist Minister, visiting the infirmed from his church. He was a member of the Brute Society and the Men’s Club. Bob also served on the Good Shepherd School Board and was a Trustee for Ivy Tech College. He loved taking annual sabbaticals, staying at a Catholic Monastery for a couple of weeks. Bob loved his religion, Nancy Wilson, Bid Whist, socializing, world history, and the Bible, but above all else, he loved his family. Family was everything to him!
Bob is survived by his wife of 35 years, Emma Curd. He leaves behind his four sons; three daughters: Veronika, Vicki, and Valencia; two sisters: Allison and Diedra; grandchildren: Chisa (Kyle), Valerian, Paul, Olivia, Jada, Joshua, Marcus, Dominique, Nia, and Erin; great grandsons: Ethan and Nuri; and a host of relatives and friends.
