Raymond “Pig” Henry Johnson, 85, of Evansville, Indiana passed away peacefully at Cypress Grove Rehabilitation Center in Newburgh, Indiana with his children at his bedside. He was born July 13, 1935 to the late Raymond and Ozella Owens Johnson.
He grew up in Evansville, Indiana, and later joined the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1957 on active duty during the Korean War. He was a semi-truck driver for JB Hunt, and a retired bus driver for CAPE. He was a proud member of St. John Catholic Church, a Legionnaire member of Otis Stone Post 354, and the Evansville Lions Club.
Raymond was preceded in death by his wife: Emperia Johnson; siblings: Mary Frances and Cecil Johnson; children: Sherry Southern and Victor Wallace.
He leaves to cherish his memories, brother: Robert Johnson (91) of Evansville, IN; children: Carla Johnson, Paula Hazelwood, Danielle Johnson, and Kenneth Oliver of Evansville, IN, Yvette Johnson of Mesquite, TX, Rayna Garrett Johnson of Kansas City, KS, William Oliver of Oakley, CA; grandchild: VaShawn VanDyke who was always by his side; caregiver: Glenda Fairrow; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
Services are 12:00 p.m. December 12, 2020 at R. Mason Brothers Memorial Chapel with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time at R. Mason Brothers Memorial Chapel. Burial in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West on Monday, December 14, 2020. Leave condolences at
