Raymond Allensworth, 83, went home to be with the Lord on October 24, 2015 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. He was educated in the Madisonville School System and later joined the United States Army where he was a chef. Raymond also graduated from Madisonville Community College with an Associates’ Degree in Business and completed on-line courses for a mechanics certification. He retired from Whirlpool Corporation in Evansville where he worked for many years. Raymond was married to Geneva Givens Allensworth for 50 years until her death in 2002.
Long after leaving the military, Raymond continued his love of cooking a variety of foods. He also enjoyed working on automobiles and watching the Nascar races on television in addition to remodeling and beautifying houses.
In addition to his loving wife, he was preceded in death by daughters, Oretha and Seretha Allensworth; son, Robert Allensworth; and brother, Robert Allensworth.
He leaves to cherish his memory daughter, Mary Ann Murphy of Madisonville; six sons: Gregory and Phillip Allensworth of Madisonville, Barry, Larry, and Tracy Allensworth of Louisville; Travis Allensworth of Owensboro; step-daughters: Cecilia Brinkley Runnels of Dallas, TX, Gilda Brinkley Windom of Culver City, CA; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, step-grandchildren, nieces, cousins, friends and a special friend, Mary Frazer.
