Parvin Matthew Greene, Jr., age 74, went to rest peacefully on May 15, 2018 at Health South Rehab Center in Evansville, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Parvin Matthew Greene, Sr. and Beulah Hatchett Groves and his step-father, Wesley Groves.
Parvin was educated in Henderson, KY and was a graduate of Douglass High School where he played football. He was a retiree of Earle C. Clements Job Corps Center as a security supervisor and was a former associate of Reeder’s Funeral Home.
Parvin was very active in his community. He was a member of the Henderson County Crime Stoppers, the Henderson County Lions, and was an active member of St. John’s Lodge #4 Prince Hall of Kentucky. He was also a Kentucky Colonel.
Parvin was a member of Greater Norris Chapel Baptist Church where he was a trustee. He was also a member of the Senior Usher Board and the bus ministry.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mildred Peden Greene; their son, Parvin Matthew Greene III and his wife Brittany Covert Greene of Franklin, TN; one sister, Judith Burris; special friends, Calvin Johnson and Wayne Gilbert; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Services will be held Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 12:00 noon at Greater Norris Chapel Baptist Church in Henderson, KY. where Rev. Charles Johnson is the pastor. A viewing will occur one hour before services. Formal visitation will be Friday from 4:00pm-8:00pm at the church where Masonic Services will be conducted. Burial in Fernwood Cemetery.
