Ora Lee Shutz Cabell, 85, passed on August 16, 2015 at Methodist Hospital. She was born on Dec. 25, 1929 and was raised by her grandparents, Pastor & Mrs. James Shutz. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and became a member of various churches in the community. She was the musician for many of them and was known as “The Piano Lady”. She was also known as the hat lady because of the fabulous hats that she wore.
Ora was married to the late Otho Cabell, Jr. and to this union was born twin sons: Lamont “Mr. T” Cranston Cabell, Sr. and LaVon “Flash” Carlos Cabell, Sr. Ora also had a son and daughter from a previous marriage: Danny Hancock and Mary Nettie Hancock Doyle. In addition to her grandparents, she is preceded in death by sons, Danny Hancock and Lamont Cabell, Sr.
Ora is survived by one daughter Mary Nettie Doyle (Rev. James), one son LaVon Cabell, Jr., both of Henderson, KY and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and friends.
