Norma Sue Parks was born on January 11, 1949, in Kentucky. She was adopted at 12 by the late Charles and Rosetta Mason. She died on Tuesday, December 24th, at home, surrounded by her son and daughter-in-law.
She graduated from City High School in Henderson, KY, in 1966. After high school, she worked at a local furniture store for a few years before deciding to pursue a career in nursing. She attended the Owensboro School for Practical Nursing and graduated in 1977. Norma worked as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) at Methodist Hospital in Henderson, Kentucky, for 35 years. She cared for patients in many different specialty units. In addition to working at Methodist, she provided private care nursing for the Alves family. While at Methodist, she befriended many people who loved, cherished, and appreciated her dedication, hard work, and sweet and humble personality. In her personal life, she loved watching old Western movies.
She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Charles Timothy (LaTona); grandchildren, Michael (Nakebi), LaTia, and Pamela; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and other relatives and friends.
