Nathan Paul Kemp

August 19, 1959 — August 31, 2022

Nathan Paul Kemp, aka BUNION, was a boxer, a union employee, a father, and a grandfather. He was born in Brent, Alabama on August 19, 1959, to the late Jack Kemp, Sr., and the late Bernice Blackmon Kemp; the youngest of six children. Paul spent his last days in Ogden, Utah with his companion Kathy Anderson and passed away during the sunset hours on August 31, 2022.

He moved to Evansville, IN with his mother, older sister, two brothers, and his niece Patricia Ann Futrell, who everyone thought was his sister. Paul graduated from North High School where he played football and basketball.

During his lifetime Paul accomplished many goals! He only lost one boxing match in his entire boxing career. He passed the test to become a State Police Officer but later turned down the position. Paul worked hard and did everything he put his mind to do. He was employed by the Freeport Center near Ogden as a laborer and groundskeeper.

In addition to his parents, Paul is preceded in death by siblings: Rose Futrell, Jack Kemp, Jr., and Roy Lee Kemp, and a niece who was like a sister: Patricia Ann Futrell.

Paul is survived by his children: Trashay D. Cheaney-Sanders (Jason), Kyandra N. Cheaney-Ogunlowo (David), and Nathan Paul Kemp Jr.; grandchildren: Joseph Editone III, Jaslyn B. Sanders, Jeremiah R. Hughie, Sarah R. Ogunlowo; his older brothers: James Tag Kemp (Kelley Madison) and David Kemp (Rhonda); devoted companion, Kathy Anderson and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
