Myron Lavon Matthews was born on June 8, 1963 to Donald and Mary L. Matthews (Adams). Affectionately called "Bubby" he graduated from Bosse High School and went on to attend Vincennes University.
Bubby was self employed with a disposition to serve those whom he met with respect and honesty. Many of his friends are lifelong buddies that watched out for one another.
Bubby was baptized by Rev. Charles Douglas at the Mt. Olive Galilee Baptist church at a young age. He later moved his membership to the Memorial Baptist Church under the leadership of his high school classmate, the Rev. Dr. Adrian M. Brooks, Sr.
Myron was an avid fisherman and enjoyed watching WWF wresting along with horse racing. He especially enjoyed spending time with the children in the family. What he showed them was a gentle man with a big heart.
Bubby is survived by one daughter, LaToya Matthews of Clarksville, TN; three sons, Myron Jamaal, Tylorean and Tedderick Matthews all of Evansville; his mother and his second father, Mary Louise and David Adams; four sisters, Ladonna Matthews and Taquilla Merritte of Detroit, MI; Love M. Adams of Louisville, KY, and Tina Williams of Atlanta, GA; 3 brothers David (Jill) Adams of O'Fallon, IL and Martino S. (Julie) Adams of Orlando , FL and Dale Adams of Owensboro, KY; a brother-in-law, James Mayes; 9 grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives; close and two special friends Donald King and Lisa Tyler of Evansville; and the Memorial and Mt. Olive Galilee Church families.
Bubby was preceded in death by his father, a granddaughter and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
