Michael L. Williams, known to so many as Scully, 69, of Evansville passed away Friday,
June 12, 2020. He was born in Evansville, Indiana to Georgianna Williams Dow and the late Robert Lunsford.
Michael, a U.S Army Vietnam Veteran, retired from Mead Johnson as a Tablet Operator. He worked at Mead Johnson for over 35 years. Michael attended Rex Mundi and graduated in 1968. Lancaster and Georgianna raised Michael in the Catholic Church. He was a member of the former St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, a member of the Sterling Men’s Club, the Class of 68 and a faithful member of the Otis Stone American Legion Post 354 where he served as Commander. Michael enjoyed early morning walks with friends, monthly retirement gatherings, traveling, spending time with family & friends, helping others and watching sports. If you knew him, you knew he was a huge Lakers Fan.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Lancaster Dow, Jr; wife, Charlene Williams; sister, Evelyn Daniels; brother, Lancaster Dow III. He is survived by his mother Georgianna Dow and siblings - sisters Anna Outlaw, Lori (James) Sutton; brothers Raymond Williams, Mark (Terry) Dow, David Dow, Gregory Dow and Eric Lunsford all of Evansville and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, June 19, 2020 at Saint Benedict Cathedral - 1328 Lincoln Avenue, Evansville, IN 47714 with a burial at Sunset Cemetery. Amidst the current climate surrounding COVID-19 pandemic, those attending the “walk through” viewing are asked to wear a mask. The viewing will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm Thursday, June 18, 2020 at Mason Brothers Memorial Chapel - 1001 Lincoln Avenue Evansville, IN. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Michael’s name to Carver Community Organization - Attn: David Wagner - 400 SE 8th Street, Evansville, IN 47713.
