Mary Gladys Tapp, 76, of Henderson, KY passed away October 18, 2019 while a resident of Redbanks Nursing Home. She was born January 15, 1943 to the late Purtis and Sarah Cosby. She was a member of Seventh Street Baptist Church.
Mary was employed with Brite Supply Cleaning Service from where she retired. She followed in the footsteps of her mother by being a hardworking housekeeper for Wesley and Joyce Owens as well as Obbie and Delores Todd. She took pride in what she did and was adored by her employers.
Mary enjoyed all types of music and loved to dance, she truly was the life of the party. She was full of jokes and there was never a dull moment around her. She loved life. Mary was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, auntie, cousin, and friend. She loved God and it showed through the unconditional love she showered all her family with. Mary had strong faith, she always looked on the bright side of things. She walked by faith and not by sight.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Cam’Ron Tapp; six brothers, L. C. Cosby, Lee Cosby, Clearance Cosby, Robert “Doc” Cosby, Merien Cosby, and R. V. Cosby; four sisters, Vivian Cosby, Georgia Ann Wells, Alice Tapp, and Beulah Washington.
She leaves to cherish; two daughters, Erica Tapp, Nicole Tapp who was her loving and devoted caregiver; stepdaughter, Jametta Tapp-Bowles (Harry) all of Henderson, KY; four grandchildren, Jerrica, Malik, Makayla, and Joshua Tapp all of Henderson, KY; one sister, Barbara Daniel of Indianapolis, IN; one brother, Purtis “Nick” Cosby of Henderson, KY. She also leaves to cherish her partner in crime her sister/cousin, Louise Watson (Theodore) of Henderson, KY; a host of loving nieces, nephews, relative and friends.
