Mary Louise Pettus

Mary Louise Pettus, age 64, of Madisonville, Kentucky, peacefully departed this life on December 30, 2024. Born on August 7, 1960, in Madisonville, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Simms and Laverne Pettus Simms.

Mary embraced her faith early in life, accepting Christ at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Earlington. She was deeply cherished as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend throughout her life. Mary had a passion for assembling puzzles and enjoyed watching football, basketball, and episodes of Law & Order. However, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends, creating lasting memories that will be treasured by those who loved her.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her beloved sister Carolyn Pettus, brothers Raymond Simms and Johnny Baxter, and grandson Jacorey Majors.

Mary leaves a legacy of love and compassion, fondly remembered by her daughters: Angela Pettus of Clarksville, TN, Keoshaia Pettus of South Carolina, and Cherail Pettus of Madisonville. She is also survived by her sisters Sheila (Paul) Richards and Valerie Simms, brother Ronald (Jennie) Baxter, 21 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.  She will always be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the indelible impact she made on the lives of those around her.
