Mary Lina Jones, 74, departed from this earth in Jehovah’s memory on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, surrounded by the people she loved the most. Mary Linda was born October 22, 1949, in Henderson, KY, to the late Charlie and Martha Thompkins.
Mary Linda attended The Kingdom Hall in Henderson, KY, where she was a very dedicated witness for many years. Throughout her journey, her loving friends from The Kingdom Hall supported and cared for her many needs.
She graduated from City High School in Henderson, Kentucky, and attended Lockyear Business College in Evansville, Indiana, where she studied Business Administration. Mary was very skilled in many things, always putting her skills to work and helping others in the community in any way she could. Throughout her career, she worked at Accuride Corporation and owned Ms. J’s Tax Service. She later became a loan officer and opened another business as a mortgage broker. Mary also worked as a Title Clerk for Casey’s Pawn Shop. She ended her career by working at the American Red Cross.
Mary Linda was a woman of grace and elegance. She was rarely seen without her dresses, jewelry, and heels, a testament to her love for style. Her love for her family was unparalleled. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, finding boundless joy in their presence. They were her greatest motivation, a constant source of love and inspiration in her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her ex-spouse, Ernest E. Jones, and sisters Polly Tyler and Rovanna Agnew.
Mary Linda leaves memories to her daughter, Angela Smith (Gerald); brothers, Charles Thompkins and John Wesley Thompkins; grandchildren, Tanelle Sawyer (Robert, Jr.), Kyrin Jones, Ganelle Smith, and Gerald Smith; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
