Mark Tyler, age 53, departed this life on Sunday, September 26. He was the third child born to Esther Fentress and Charles Tyler.
Tip or Tony (as he was called) was a graduate of Reitz High School and was known for his athletic skills, particularly basketball. In addition to his athletic ability, Tony enjoyed music and writing poetry. He was often the entertainment during family gatherings, telling jokes and performing spontaneous music concerts that no one wanted to hear, but he didn’t care.
After working various jobs around the city, Tony decided to enlist in the Army for a tour of duty. He received an Honorable Discharge and returned to Evansville where he resumed his search for his niche in life. Tony had compassion for the elderly and would often volunteer to assist neighbors with chores they needed assistance with.
He was preceded in death by grandmothers: Patty Fentress and Vandora Scott; aunts: Earline Fentress and Beatrice Fentress; and great grandmother: Estra Cunningham.
He leaves to cherish his memories his son: Jimarcus Tyler; mother: Esther Fentress; father: Charles Tyler; brothers: Darryl Tyler, Terry Tyler (Antoinette), Kevin Tyler, Brian Fentress (Chanel), and Kurt Tyler; sisters: Levone Tyler, Pamela Hooks (Tremayne), and Violet Tyler; aunts: Pamela Fentress, Marcia Fentress, and Patricia Fentress; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Special thanks to Kindred Hospice for their loving care.
