Mark Harlan Ricketts was born on November 20, 1958, in Evansville, to Harlan Melvin and Luella Mae Leonard Ricketts passed away on November 3, 2021.
He attended Benjamin Bosse High School, where he was on the football and wrestling teams. He graduated with the Class of 1976. He accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. C. E. Douglas. He sang in the Junior Choir. Later he joined the Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Larry Rascoe.
In 1981, he married the former Sherri Craig and from this union two children were born: Brandi Nichole and Ebony Marie. Later he married the former LaConia Stewart in 2005.
Mark had been employed as a truck driver for over 40 years and was an avid Denver Broncos fan. He enjoyed all his toys to the fullest. He loved family gatherings, Super Bowl parties, and could be found in the backyard in all four seasons grilling and smoking up the neighborhood.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents: Harlan Melvin and Luella Ricketts.
Mark leaves not a void, but a well-experienced life, to surviving family members, daughters: Brandi Ricketts and Ebony Ragland (Justin); grandchildren: Ashton Clements, Brooklyn Clements, and Amiyah Ragland; sister: Debra George (James); nephew: LeVar St. Germain (Andrea); great nieces and nephew LeRea, LaVan, and LaMiyah St.Germain; aunt: Wilma Hamilton; former wife: LaConia Stewart, her daughter Sherelle Stewart, and grandsons Caleb and Zion Stewart. He also leaves to mourn a host of cousins and friends who all loved him very much.
