Marion Key

December 8, 1939 — July 9, 2021

Marion Key was born on December 8, 1939, in Henderson, KY to the late James and Anna Mae Hatchett Key. On July 9, 2021, Marion transitioned from earth to eternal life.
He worked for many years at Inland Container. He enjoyed playing fastpitch softball. He was a wonderful dad who loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and extended family. He had a passion for sitting in the park and hanging out with his friends telling stories and having a good time. He also loved walking around town and riding the bus.
In addition to his parents, Marion was preceded in death by his wife: Nettie May Key; and his son: Marion Key, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his son: Tracey (Sherry) Key; daughter: Juanita Key-Coy of Tallahassee, FL; stepsons: Harold “Buster” Carter and Michael O’Dale Carter; stepdaughter: Marilyn Ann (Mitch) Parrish; brother: Owen Key; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Thanks to Sherry Key, daughter-in-law, who took care of Marion. The family of Mr. Marion Key wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Redbank Nursing and staff, many friends, and loved ones for all the comforting words, prayers, floral arrangements, and many other expressions of kindness in their thoughts and deeds.
