Margaret Joe Leachman

Margaret Joe Leachman, daughter of the late Leo Marshall and Josephine Van Dyke, was born May 21, 1949 in Henderson, KY and departed this life to go home with the Lord on Thursday, June 18, 2020.
Margaret worked for Deig Construction and for many years as an Environmental Technician for Welborn Clinic. Margaret was known for going to Bingo, spending time with her children and grandchildren, and playing cards with her family and friends. She was the type of grandmother whose grandchildren weren’t embarrassed to cut up with on the dance floor.
She was preceded in death by: her daughter, Barbara Marshall; brother, Gary Van Dyke; and a special grandson, Jarico Robinson.
She leaves to cherish her memories; daughters: Sheila Gullatt, George Hayes, Latonna Leachman, Roxanne (Colin) Pauley; sisters: Charlotte (Barry) Carter, Mary Drone, Carla (Johnny) Rankin, and Vincent Van Dyke, 18 grandchildren; and a grandson, Demish Heard who she loved like a son.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, June 26 at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 825 Line St., Evansville, IN. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Funeral services are entrusted to R. Mason Bros. Memorial Chapel. Due to Covid-19, masks/face coverings will be required and social distancing will be practiced at all services.
