Lydia Nashae White

March 6, 1990 — August 16, 2024

On March 6, 1990, an overly joyous, outspoken, and loving soul was delivered into this world. Lydia Nashae “Litt Dawg” White was born March 6, 1990, to Monica Edwards and Doug White in Evansville, IN. In the early hours of August 16, 2024, she passed from her earthly home to gain her heavenly wings.

Lydia became a member of Greater St. James Baptist Church and was baptized under the leadership of Rev Douglas Smith. She sang in the Junior Choir, attended Sunday School and various church programs.

Lydia attended Delaware Elementary School where she had early training in gymnastics. She then went to North High School where she developed a love for art, music, and writing. Soon after leaving school to provide for her family, Lydia began working in various fields such as customer service, the food industry, and self-employment as a hairstylist.

“Litt Dawg” was a one-of-a-kind soul and shined a special kind of light onto this world. To her family and friends, she was that one irreplaceable person that could brighten any room and lift every spirit with one flash of that gold-grilled smile. Lydia had a way of making the best out of any situation with her quick-wittedness and hustle mentality. Those who knew & loved her knew that she moved and operated on “Litt Dawg Timing”, which meant that you had to have monk-like patience and nerves of steel when it came to the way she liked things to go. Growing up on “O Block” (Oregon Street) with her eldest brother “Rio” and two younger siblings,” Yoshi” & “Alow” was nothing short of a wild, fun-loving mess of a good time at Ms. Christine’s (Grandmother) house. Rather it was snapping jokes back and forth at her Momma, jamming to music and having dance competitions, picking with her brothers and sister, sneaking and splitting snacks and blaming it on each other, driving through the city in her granny’s van bumping that Lil Webbie or turning up with the few but very close friends that Granny approved of and let come hang out at the house. (If you know you know, Ms. Christine was no joke!) Lydia loved and was loved unconditionally by everyone who had the pleasure of calling her sister, family, or friend, and would extend that love even in times when it was hard to do. She was most passionate about her children/family, her music, her friends and her “Litt Dawg “sense of style (lol), cooking and eating (lol), and last but not least, her money! Overall, Lydia was a beautifully spirited young woman who overcame adversity and took on many challenges head-on. She was fiercely strong-willed and unapologetically herself. She also spoke life into anyone who was in need and was always a place of comfort for the people she cared for the most

LittDawg was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Christine Edwards and Betty White; and uncle, Frederick Lee Cook.

Lydia leaves her most precious and fond memories to her mother, Monica Edwards, and step-father Donnie Luster; birth father, Doug white; 5 siblings, Demario Holman “Rio”, Isaiah Edwards “Yoshi”, and Ariel Edwards “Alow”, Christian White, and Doug White Jr.; 4 children, Laniyah Edwards, Brylen Edwards, Lamariah Edwards, and Prince Edwards; nieces, Jazlyn Holman & Zamora Edwards; nephews, A’Daryus and Na’Zyheir Holman; aunties, Caroline White, Jennifer White, Joyce White, and Missy Edwards; uncles, Tyrone Edwards, Buckout, Punch Hunter, Delmio White, Antonio Wood Arthur Smith; and a grand host of cousins and even more loved ones and close friends.

Lydia will be sorely missed, but will always and forever be remembered and celebrated. Those of us still here on this earth who feel like we lost our beloved “Litt Dawg”, should find comfort in knowing a Big Dawg gained her wings & not only did Heaven gain a real one, we all gained a Real Deal Guardian Angel.. God Speed and Long Live Litt Dawg, the biggest!!!
