Lucy Wiley

May 10, 1927 — May 17, 2020

Lucy I. Wiley was born on May 10, 1927 in Newburgh, IN to the proud parents, George Madison and Eula Madison Spencer. She was one of 7 children.
On May 17, 2020, Lucy made her transition from earth into eternity. Lucy was well-known throughout our community and will be greatly missed. She had attended Lincoln High School and Los Angeles City School Districts College to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked in Los Angeles and Indianapolis and at CAPE where she was a foster grandparent. She was a faithful member of Memorial Baptist Church. She attended every opportunity she could. She had a smile on her face and a very pleasing personality and kind heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents: George and Eula Spencer; sisters: Mary N. Couch, Dorothy Woods; and brothers: George, Lynn, John, and Elmo.
Her memories will be cherished by her sister-in-law, Hilda Madison Scott; a nephew/caregiver, Albert K. Madison, Sr; and a host of other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Since Aunt Lucy never birthed children, she became active in the lives of her nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews and was very instrumental in their upbringing.
Special thanks to Golden Living Center, Brentwood, and The Alzheimer’s Unit for their special love and care.
Homegoing services will be Thursday, May 21 at 12:00 p.m at R. Mason Memorial Chapel, Evansville, IN. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 20 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
