Lucy Christine Day

Lucy Christine Day was born on December 23, 1934 in Madisonville, KY to the late Delmer Parks and Margret Mitchell. She departed this life in her home on October 25, 2016.

Lucy gave her life to Christ at A.M.E. Zion Temple of Madisonville KY. Later in life, she became a faithful member and associate minister of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Lucy worked for Enro for 20 years and retired from Madisonville Regional Medical Center after 20 years of service.

Lucy loved to play piano, bowl, play softball, cook, and take martial arts classes. She loved her church home and family. She played many active roles in her church: she served as BTU Secretary, President of the Ministers’ Society, Sunday School teacher, and was a member of the culinary arts committee at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Lester P. Day, Sr.; her sister, Willow Majors; and her son, Lester P. Day, Jr.

Lucy leaves to cherish her memories three sons: Jerome and Danny Day both of Madisonville KY and Kent Day of Terre Haute IN; two daughters: Judy Foster and Jeanette Lindsey both of Clarksville TN; a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and many loved ones.

Services will be held Monday, October 31, 2016 at 1:00pm at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Madisonville. Visitation will be same day from 11:00 until service time, also at the church. Burial in Eastside Odd Fellows Cemetery. Mason & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be left at www.masonbrothersfs.com
