On November 2, 2022, Loris Faye Gray passed away peacefully at the age of 66. She was preceded in death by her father Clarence L. Gray, Sr.
She would sometimes comment about the fact that she was the only one of her siblings to be born in the integrated hospital in Madisonville, KY. Faye attended JW Million School and graduated from Earlington High School in 1973.
She attended Western Kentucky University and Madisonville Community College. She also took coursework in Business Management and Computer Science. Although she never had a traditional career, Faye Gray worked hard every day.
Faye took extreme pride in being a mother. As a homemaker, she cooked every day, took her kids to school, and hosted family gatherings in “the Trailer” on Farren Ave. Faye was considered the first “Uber”, offering rides to neighbors and friends when they were in need. She cared deeply for her family and neighbors. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was.
She loved to decorate for any occasion and was not limited to holidays. Just a few days prior to her death she asked for some fall décor to decorate her hospital room.
Faye (a.k.a.Gravy Train) is survived by: her mother, Nettie Belle Hall-Gray, her siblings Lynette Burns of Earlington, KY and Clarence Gray (Diann) of Madisonville, KY, her children, Keath Gray of Evansville, IN; Katrice Gray of Madisonville, KY; Dr. Kishonna Gray-Denson (Kayland) of Lexington, KY, honorary daughter Kimberly Marion of Madisonville, KY, grandchildren, Antonio Mar-kez Gray-Person of Madisonville, KY; Brittanie Nichole Pettus of Madisonville, KY; Jayden-Mekhi Keyshaun Gray of Madisonville, KY; Anteaus Kieran Denson and Jay Kelis Denson of Lexington, KY; Kayden Kyair Gray of Evansville, IN; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
