Lola Mae (Qualls) Swan departed this life July 1, 2023, in Springfield, Massachusetts surrounded by her family. Born November 20, 1943, in Earlington, KY to the late James Qualls and Lula Drone. Lola attended Rosenwald High School in Madisonville. She married Robert Swan and later moved the family to Springfield, MA. Lola worked for Milton Bradley and retired from Digital Equipment Corporation associated with production of equipment. Lola later became self-employed and worked with the Foster Care system for many years.
Lola was a member of Spring of Hope COGIC IN Springfield under the care of Bishop Talbert Swan II who served as her pastor. When Lola visited Madisonville, she attended Holy Temple COGIC, where Bishop Raymond Marion, Jr. was pastor. She attended service regularly until her health began to fail causing her to watch the service on the internet.
In addition to her parents, Lola was preceded in death by husband: Eric Morgan; daughter: Brenda Lee Swan; son: Robert Swan, Jr.; 4 sisters: Delores Brown, Hazel Hyde, Brenda Jefferson, Cora Lee Qualls; 1 brother: Allen Drone.
Lola leaves behind 2 daughters: Joyce Hall of Springfield, MA, Vivian Blake of Madisonville, KY; 2 sons: David Swan (Andrea) of Philadelphia, PA, Michael Picard (Brianna) of Springfield, MA; 3 sisters: Linda Steppe of Madisonville, KY, Marie Nicholson of Frankfort, KY, Beverly Thomas (Pastor Donnie) of Earlington, KY; 2 brothers: James Qualls, Jr. of Louisville, KY; Bill (Theresa) Qualls of Earlington, KY; 13 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild Mykel Stone; the newest members of the family: Kalani Swan and Michael Picard, Jr.; sister-in-law: Sherri Drone; special friends of many years: Creola Johnson and Azlee Carthoun, ex-husband: Robert Swan, Sr. with whom she remained friends.
Lola was always excited to see her grandchildren. She greeted her family and friends with her beautiful smile and enjoyed meeting new people.
