Linda Darlene Hancock Buckner, born July 27, 1962, in Henderson, Kentucky to the late James Richard Hancock and Shirley Jean Hancock, received her eternal reward from labor to rest on March 25, 2024. She was number five out of their ten children.
The neighborhood affectionately called her “Mama D”. Darlene surrendered her life to Christ at an early age at Norris Chapel Baptist Church. She attended Earle C. Clements Job Corp Center in Morganfield Kentucky where she received her GED.
Darlene raised three of grandchildren: Shaymon Hancock, Biancee Hill and Kiankhe Hill. Darlene was a wife, mother, sister, auntie grandmother and great-grandmother and friend to all. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Dexter and her niece Classina.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her husband, Dale Buckner, son, Sedrick Hancock, daughter, Honey Hancock; sisters: Cathy Gray, Sylvia Cansler, Sherry Hancock, and Grace Wilson (Corey), brothers: Bill Hancock (Yvonne), John Hancock, Gene Hancock, and Don Hancock (Maria); and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
