Miss Lillie Russell Taylor was born September 3, 1960, to Albert Taylor and Anna Russell Taylor Givens in Evansville, Indiana. She transitioned from Earth to Eternity at Memorial Hospital in Jasper, IN on May 18, 2023.
After growing up with her siblings in Evansville, Miss Taylor came to live in a group home at KCARC in 1990. She initially shared a KCARC group home with several others and then in August of 2004, she moved to a smaller, more independent setting in a home in Vincennes, Indiana. She loved spending her weekdays at the KCARC Baker Center with her siblings and friends. Lillie always loved dressing in pretty clothes, wearing bracelets and necklaces, and wearing barrettes, headbands or bows in her hair. Lillie liked anything girly and enjoyed having her hair and make-up done. One of her favorite days was “Spa Days” at Baker Center where she loved getting her hands and feet massaged and then getting a manicure and pedicure with colorful polishes.
She enjoyed dressing in her formal gown and participating in the KCARC “Ms. Marvelous” pageant and going to the “Night to Shine” prom with her friends. Lillie loved her baby dolls and cared for them like her own children. She enjoyed laughing and having fun with her housemates and friends, too.
Lillie was preceded in death by her two sisters: Marion and Toni. She is survived by her mother: Anna Givens; and brothers: Albert Taylor , Carter Levester, and Ron Taylor. Her family and friends at KCARC will miss her sweet smile.
A big “thank you” to ADA folks for their help in remembering the best of our friend! We will always remember her for the wonderful lady she was to us all.
