Leona Woolfolk Miller was born 98 years ago on November 11, 1917 in Providence, Kentucky. Her parents were the late Ed and Annie Woolfolk. She was the last of eleven siblings – seven boys and four girls.
Leona was educated in the Providence School System. She was a member of the Simpson Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She lived in the Peoria, Illinois area and worked at the St. Francis Hospital in Sterile Processing.
Leona loved and enjoyed her family. Her favorite pastime was playing card games such as “Five Up” or “Spades.” She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
On Friday, May 13, 2016, Leona went to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Carroll Miller, and her grandson, Shamarr Smith.
Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Lynette and Michele; five grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchild; nieces; nephews; and a host of cousins.
Home-going services Friday, May 20, 2016 at 1:00pm at Simpson Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Visitation will also be at the church from 11:00am until service time.
