Leatrice J. Irwin, 84, of Evansville went home to be with the Lord on March 10,
2023, at University Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was the daughter of Ulysses
Bell, and Pauline and Clarence Robinson who raised her in the Catholic faith.
She was educated at Mt. Vernon Public School Corporation. She and her husband
Charles Irwin moved to Evansville in the 1950s where she would be a devoted
mother to her three sons. Her employment included custodial work for the
Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation and the Evansville Civic Center in
addition to other various jobs.
In her former years, she was known for her stylish and high-quality clothing,
and later in life for her more eccentric style including her T-scarves. She was
well-known around town by various store owners and associates.
She was preceded in death by her mother Pauline Robinson (nee Offett),
stepfather Clarence "Boy" Robinson, father Ulysses Bell, and two sons Ortega
Irwin and Elorde Irwin. She was survived by her son Marcelino Irwin who passed
away a day later. She leaves to cherish her memory, Rapina Robinson, her loving
and devoted sister along with family and friends.
