Larry Emmanuel Ross, 67, was born in Evansville, Indiana to Emmanuel Ross and Jean Taylor. He passed away Saturday morning, July 21, 2018.
Larry graduated from Rex Mundi High School class of 1969. He attended the University of Evansville, the University of Louisville, the University of Southern Indiana, and the University of Missouri Central. Larry humbly served this great nation as a service member in the United States Navy during the Vietnam war era. He was a life-long member of the American Legion and former Commander of the Indiana 8th District, one of the largest non-profit veteran service organizations serving communities and youth – all while promoting a devotion to service members and veterans. He was a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
Larry is survived by his wife, Alberta; children: Kimberly (Kevin) Jenkins, Laurence (Jocelyn) Ross, Michelle (Bright) Ogbogu, and Nicole (Willie) Coleman; his sister, Krista (Danny Hawkins); his former wife, Priscilla Williams ; his grandchildren: Ané, Jourdan, and Nathan Jenkins, Jason, Traye, and Tristan Ross, Maya, Isaiah and Brielle Ogbogu, Sia Coleman, and Kenzee Johnson; his niece and nephew, Imani and Payden Hawkins; his step-daughter, Kenitra Johnson; his aunt, Barbara Sebree; his uncle, Otha “Jack” Holbrook; and other relatives and friends.
Services are Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 12:00pm at Memorial Baptist Church. Visitation from 10:00am until service time. Burial at Oak Hill Cemetery.
