Kenneth Benard Jackson, Sr. passed away on December 6, 2024, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, after dealing with numerous health issues over a period of time. He was the only child born on December 31, 1937, to the late Andrew Jackson and Vera Whittaker Dixon.
Kenneth served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956-1960 and received an honorable discharge. He worked various other jobs, finally landing a position with the Evansville Fire Department, where he served for 35 years, retiring as a District Chief.
He was a member of The American Legion Post #357 and The Soul Brothers Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had a love for Jazz and attended numerous jazz concerts throughout the country. He loved to entertain friends in his basement. He had an infectious smile.
In addition to his parents, he was deceased by his bonus child, Terry Pike.
He is survived by his children, Kenneth, Jr. (Sheila) and Michelle (John), long-term companion Mrs. Faye Brown, and bonus children, Wallace Rollins, Rosiland Rollins, Regina Berry, and Demetrius Brown, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
