Junius Edward Sneed IV

June 6, 1965 — December 2, 2016

Junius Edward Sneed, IV was born to Junius and Elizabeth Sneed on June 6, 1965 in Evansville, IN. He passed away December 2, 2016.

Junius graduated from Harrison High School in 1983 and attended the University of Southern Indiana for a short time. His work always involved animals. He worked for Dr. Scott Thompson at the Vet Clinic on Morgan Avenue and the Pet Store on Washington Square Mall in his early years. He was never without a job and worked in the cafeteria at University of Evansville but he was not totally satisfied until he landed his dream job as a zookeeper at Mesker Park Zoo where he was employed for 17 years. He was passionate about animals of all kinds, from reptiles to lions and the exotic. “Until one has loved an animal, their soul remains un-awakened.”

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. Junius and Maggie Sneed of Henderson, KY and Mildred Powell of Evansville, IN; an uncle, Jesse Mockobee Powell of Steilacoom, WA; and a sister, Junice Sneed of Chicago, IL.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Elizabeth Sneed; father, Junius Sneed; brother, Christopher Sneed – all of Evansville IN; sister, Sheree Joyce of Nashville TN; cousins, Maria and Isabel Powell; an aunt, Iris Powell – all from Washington State; and a host of friends and relatives.
